LO2 - Potential revenue

Potential Revenue

There are quite a few companies who would want to sponsor / invest like toys r us or other toy companies which might want to sell the products on there site or in there store so they could spinor to have the rights to sell the products.
Toy companies would also want to advertise non- wooden toys or products as it would steal customers if they were selling similar products but other toys like big plastic toy cars are in a different market but have potentially the same customer base with the website attracting people who want to buy toys for there children is exactly what they're advertising but a different kind of product.
There is also a completely different kind of company who would want to advertise which links to the products like in the pictures of the products on the website you can see the products in different environments like sand where a company could advertise to sell a small sand pit area for children to play with there product in and try it out like in the picture over a different surface. Depending on what the company thought was best to go with the product there could be either two sponsors like "Duplay" which has a small exploration sand tray or "fun4kids" which has a big sand pit depending on which size with both companies having a range of sizes.

LO2 - Information Flow

The user can navigate through the sites in many different ways which I have made easy by displaying  different buttons and text which can be clicked to then bring the user to the releveant  page which they want to reach.

The Small Machine logo will be displayed at the top of every page which isn't just to remind the user what site they're on but it will also link the user back to the home page from any page which they may be on so they have easy access to get home where they have a variety of information and not just stuck on that one page.

The user can easily see where to login or create an account which will allow them to save details for future payments or get news updates about new products or latest news about what the company is doing. The user can either click the login/create account text or the person above the text which will both link them to the login or create account page which will be displayed on every page so the user can easily click on it and not have to click back to the home page just to go to that page.

The checkout button will be displayed at the top of every page so that the user can easily checkout the items that they have wanted to pay for later and have shopped around they don't want to be searching around the home page or for a link to buy the items they want to purchase. The number of items in the basket will also be displayed and the user can easily take something out or search around to add something in.

The search bar will be at the top of every page where users can quickly and easily search for something that they will be looking for on the site, it is on the top of every page so that it makes it easy for the user instead of having to move and look around the site. If the user can't see what they're looking for on a particular page or the tab then they can search for it.

The tab bar will be displayed at the top of every page below the logo, search bar and other things where users can easily navigate to different pages to find out information which they want to know about or have a look at products and add them to the basket.

LO2 - Lesson Objective

In today's lesson I will be completing the information flow where I will be showing how the user can navigate through the site.

I will also be starting and aiming to finish the legal and ethical post where I will talk about assets that I need, Regulatory bodies, copyright and more.

LO2 - Website Features

The ideas below are examples which I was to put on my website where the background changes whether the person is scrolling and or moving as well down the page. This makes the website look effective where the audience doesn't have to look at the same screen and the background moving whilst they scroll around makes it eye catching and keeps the audience interested.  I have decided to take the idea from both the Sumo website and Laurameroni website but I have used my own idea to create something which would work for my website because there is no point using exactly what they've done because it wouldn't go with what my website is about.

The idea for my website is that whilst the audience isn't scrolling there can be different products appearing on the page after so many seconds and whatever product is still on the page and the user scrolls down that product actually starts moving whilst they're scrolling.

I will be using a font from Google fonts where I will be to use one which has already been created by somebody or I can use my own.

LO2 - Launch Dates

The launch date of the completed website will be the 15/1/2016. The reason that the website will be done for this date is because of the months of planning which is required in order to reach the point of where the website is complete and the client is happy with positive feedback. The different processes which have to be completed are things like the drafting which needs to be drawn out and labeled to give a rough idea of what I want to actually put on the website and what is going to go where to make it effective and have things in the right place on the website.  There is a big stage of where a lot of images and information has got to be put together to make sure you have everything on the website that the customer could want or need whilst also thinking about the navigation and how it will all link to where it needs to be linked to and help the customer navigate easily around the site. There is the clients requirements which have to be considered when making the website to ensure that not only the customer is happy the client themselves to ensure that they've got everything and not missing anything or incase they don't like something on the website or a specific colour or the way a page looks. There is a big step of putting the website together and figuring out how each image, text and widgets will be put on there and where you will actually put them which may be different to the draft as it will look different actually putting it together to view the potential real thing. Then finally there will be the feedback and testing before it's launched which gives someone a chance to test the website to make sure everything is working and looks right and if it doesn't then a chance for you to change it before the website goes live and customers experience the problems.

LO2 Planning a multi page website - Mindmap

LO2 Planning a multi page website - audience

The audience of Small Machine Toys would be aimed at both girls and boys but mostly boys as boys are more interested in wooden toys with girls being more interested in playing with dolls. The age of children who would play with the toys would be around the age of 5 to 11 with ages above starting to get into bigger toys and technology. The location of these who would play with the toys would be from the city where they can get them from the toy store. They would be A,B,C,C1 as they will have a disposable income which they can spend on toys.

It also allows the user to find further information like if the product can be delivered to there house, how long it will take and how much it will cost to deliver or if they can pick it up at the store. The user can also find a contact number, email and address so they can ask any questions they may have.

LO1 Lesson 2 - Learning Sheet 2

LO1 Task 2; Wikipedia

Purpose - The purpose of Wikipedia is to provide users with information about people who are mostly famous like Will Smith with a profile about him, his history and his life. It gives you information about different places like Balch Creek with facts like "It's a 3.5 mile tributary of the Willamette River in the U.S state of Oregon". The information is not always reliable but a lot of it is with people being allowed to edit what the page says if they have something to add. If information isn't correct people can report the page so it can be removed by the people who moderate the site.

Visitor Needs - The Visitor needs of Wikipedia is aimed at everyone who has or can use a computer with their being information on just about anything with it going into detail about certain people and how they ended up where they're and if they're an actor which films they have been in. The information on a lot of pages is aimed at younger people with the information being delivered as being quite simple with pictures and short sentences but some pages have almost no pictures and complicated sentences which are aimed at older people. The visitor would want to be able to quickly access a variety of different information which isn't just filled with complicated text it should be easy to read with pictures to look at which makes it more appealing and makes people want to actually read the page.

C) Information Flow – The Wikipedia website makes it easy for the users the navigate around the site with a lot of the words being hyperlinked to take you to different pages but whichever page you end up on the logo is always displayed at the top left which when clicked will bring you back to the Wikipedia home page so you can always go bar and the search bar is displayed at the top on every page so you can search for as many things as you need. The account login is displayed at the very top, which will come up on every page so you don’t have to go to the home page just to login, which makes it easier for users. Under the logo on the left there are many links to help you like every language you can change it to being displayed and once clicked it changes every page to that language till you click it back to another there are also helpful tabs like “contents” “create a book” “donate to Wikipedia” “random article” “help” “community portal” and many others.

D) Features – The website Wikipedia has a lot of features with every word on the page is hyperlinked to a different page which talks about that specific word, place, person or subject which is full of information. There is a scroll bar on the side of the page, which allows you to scroll down the page and up to see more information, at the top of the page there is the Wikipedia logo on the left which also navigates you back to the home page with a number of different languages below it incase you cant read English. Across from the logo on the top right of the page is where you can login to your account which allows you to edit different pages and either add or delete information on that specific page to improve it.

E) Benefits – The benefit of Wikipedia for the user is that you can find out information about a person, subject or place which goes into detail about that person or places history and many other things about them. You can find this information within seconds by just typing in the search bar what you need to know which is useful for when revising at school and you need to know what something means or who someone is or what a place is. It benefits a variety of people by allowing you to change what language you see the text in for people who cant read English.

(Producer) Wikipedia is a non-profit organisation, which doesn’t have a profit game, but they benefit from trying to encourage people to donate to their charity, which aims to help thousands of people around the world.
