Purpose : The purpose of this website is to sell a variety of different products for a variety of different people and ages. They sell toys for children, home appliances, garden appliances and many more. They work against many different sellers like toys r us, home bargins and many other places which sell exactly the same product but Argos try and work to bring the best prices for their customers.
Visitor Needs : The visitor needs for Argos website is for over 18 year olds because a lot of the items sold are expensive and require to be 18 to register to the site and have some sort of credit card. Even though the site is intended for 18 year olds younger people at the age of 16 or so still use it as they can pay for items online with there debit cards. The visitor would want to use this website in order to find products which they need/want for a better price than they can find somewhere else and have it easily delivered or picked up instead of waiting a long time for something which they could need. The visitor wants the website to clearly display what they have to offer and what the price is and how long it will take to be delivered or picked up so they can clearly see if they can go somewhere to get the product cheaper or quicker.
C) Information Flow – The Argos Website is easy for the user to navigate around with the Argos logo being displayed at the top of every page and once clicked brings you back to the home page of Argos and the search bar is also located at the top so you don’t have to go back to the home page to search for another product. The tabs like “Technology” also follows you as you click onto different products, which help you, go to different categories of products all the time by just hovering your mouse over them. There is a lot of information as soon as you go on the website with a banner which advertises new products which are coming into the store and below that pictures of items which have good offers and once clicked brings you to that product instead of having to search for it. The login button is displayed at the top of every page and trolley so you don’t have to go to the home page to see what you have put in your basket or to login.
D) Features – There are many features
presented on the Argos website which makes it easy for the user to use and
navigate. The logo of Argos is also located at the top. There are different
tabs like “technology” which drops into more menus like “sound and vision” and
then into tabs like “television and accessories” which help you quickly find
what you’re specifically looking for.
There is a search bar at the top which helps you quickly find what
you’re looking for without searching around the website and scroll down bar
which helps you scroll down the page to see more information. There is also an
account login and basket included in the header so you can easily find what you
have added to your basket and you can easily login to purchase items.
E) Benefits – The benefits of the user for
using Argos is that they can try and find cheaper products than a lot of
different places and if you are in a rush to get it you can pick it up the same
day from one of Argos’s local stores and reserve it so nobody else can get it
before you do. It also comes with a warranty and can be brought back to any
local store for fixing or a replacement unlike places like Ebay. You can even
have the product delivered if you don’t want to pick it up at your local store.

people can pay to pre order products with Argos which means they get them
earlier than everyone else which makes Argos more money. They also benefit from the website by
offering a delivery service which costs money for you to have something
delivered which makes them more money.

1. The Argos logo is located in the top right which isn't only to display the brands logo but it is displayed on every page which links the user back to the main page of Argos from any page they may end up on.
2. Next to the Argos logo on the right is a "help" text with an i symbol which when clicked will bring the user to a different page so any questions about orders, payments, deliveries and collections, supplies and aftersales, opening times, how to contact them and much more. There is also a search bar which allows users to search for what they need to know if it isn't already displayed under the given categories. There is also a store locator which when clicked brings you to a page which has every Argos store named in the whole of the UK where you can click that specific store which is near you and find out opening times and contact numbers and if you don't know your closest store you can enter your town or postcode and it will find it for you. There is also a search bar at the top of the website where you can search for what you need instead of clicking through the tabs to find it like "iPhone 5s case" and it will show you all the cases for sale.
3. To the right of the website across from the search bar users can sign in to there accounts to find out about specific deals which they may be interested on or upcoming items which will soon be for sale with Argos and for users who don't have an account then can also sign up to become a member. There is a trolley button and text which is on the right of the sign up which allows users to find products which they like and add to a basket and then pay for it when they have chosen a number of items instead of paying for them each separately where products can easily be removed from the basket with one click if they don't want it. The price drop tab takes the user to a page which shows a number of different categories on the site with special offers like "Save up to 60% on indoor furniture" and many others. The clearance tab takes the users to a clearance page which has many different categories like "Technology" which they click and it takes them to another page which displays different technology where they can choose another category like "iPads, tablets and ereaders"

Just below the tabs at the top there are a number of tabs below which is split into different categories like Technology, toys, clothing and many more so the user can hover there mouse over a category like technology and it drops down into more categories like sound & vision, computing & phones, technology essentials and many more. Below these tabs are three different boxes side by side which are Delivery from £3.95 which once clicked leads you to a page which tells you how much a delivery is going to be depending on the item and your location ect, Fast track collection brings you to a page full of information telling the user how they can pre order an item and when they're in the shop they can pick it up in less than 60 seconds. The last box is a buy now and pay later scheme which is designed by Argos to try and keep customers buying from them by sorting insurance and money off certain items.
5. The banner is located just below the boxes at the top of the page and it is designed to be big and bold and stand out because it is important like the one Argos have on is saying that customers can pre order the new iPad Mini 4 and have it the same day it is released before many other people get it so they're the first, by clicking on the image it tells the customer information about the iPad mini 4, how much it will be, when it comes out and many other information including how they can pre order it. The banner is on a timer and switches every number of seconds to display another advertisement which can be for a product or a service which Argos is offering as the other advertisement on the banner is for the Fast Track service which they offer as they're trying to get more customers by advertising a quick and easy pick up so you don't have to wait.
5. There are a number of pictures used on the website which is used to display new products or ones with an offer on or money off them which you can simply clicked to be linked to the page about that product where it tells you a lot of information about it, when it can be delivered, reviews and how much it is. It is used to attract customers to look at that product instead of clicking on the tabs and seeing hyperlinked text like "technology, teleivison" you can see a picture of a new television which Argos has just got in stock.
